Josian et Céline farm campsite, Entre-Deux: home-cooked Creole meals and 5 intimate pitches
A campsite with the Accueil Paysan (farm hospitality) label, run by Josian and Céline in the hills of Entre-Deux: 5 pitches under coconut palms and bois noir trees, Creole meals cooked on site at their table paysanne (farmhouse table) and breakfast on request. The very opposite of a big commercial campsite.
The campsite run by Josian and Céline, on Chemin Bastian in the Le Serré district of Entre-Deux, has everything you could hope for in Reunion Island: a genuine family setting, Creole farmhouse meals served on the veranda, a “Welcome to Céline and Josian's” sign at the entrance, and the Accueil Paysan label, a guarantee of genuine farm hospitality.
Here's what you need to know before booking: rates, getting there from the N1 via the Entre-Deux bridge, facilities, the meals and the hikes that start from the village, plus other outings nearby (Bras Long, the Dimitile trail, a hike to the volcano). If you'd rather not sleep in a tent, a campervan lets you combine a night here with stops elsewhere on the island.
The campsite essentials
A night under the coconut palms and bois noir trees
Arriving at Céline and Josian's.The hand-painted “Welcome to Céline and Josian's” sign with the Accueil Paysan logo sets the tone from the moment you arrive. The farm sits deep in the Creole countryside, with its main house, outbuildings, fruit and vegetable garden, and the veranda where meals are served. Everything tells you this is a family welcome, not a chain.
The pitches. The campsite has 5 pitches (30 tents maximum) on a grassy area shaded by coconut palms and bois noir trees. Each pitch has a wooden picnic table, a canvas awning and a fire pit for cooking or barbecues. The pitches are spaced far enough apart for privacy.
The farmhouse table. This is the main draw. Josian and Céline cook hearty farmhouse mealsserved on the traditional veranda: Creole caris (curries), rougails, chayote gratin, rice and beans, all made with vegetables from their own garden. Breakfast is also available on request. It turns a simple night of camping into a real taste of Entre-Deux's Creole culture.
Entre-Deux, an unusual village.Nestled between the two rivers that give it its name (“between the two”), Entre-Deux is one of the island's most charming villages, officially listed as a Village Créole. Its colourful houses, flower-filled gardens and well-preserved atmosphere make it a special stop. The campsite is 3km from the centre, walkable if you like walking or a few minutes by car.
How to get to the campsite
From the N1, take the exit towards Entre-Deux. After crossing the Entre-Deux bridge, drive about 1km into the village and turn right onto Chemin Bastian. Follow the road: the campsite is marked by the “Accueil Paysan” sign.
Allow about 15 minutes by car from Saint-Pierre, 30 minutes from Saint-Louis, 45 minutes from Saint-Leu. The road is paved all the way and fine for any standard car. There is fuel and shops in the centre of Entre-Deux, 3km away.
Parking is directly at the campsite. There is no direct public transport from the village, so you need a car.
