The stay essentials
A night under canvas among the lychee trees
Arriving at Gadiamb City. The estate lies in Bassin Plat, a quiet farming and residential area near Saint-Pierre. You reach your tent along the estate's paths, through the lychee forest that gives the place its special atmosphere. With room for 68 guests, it feels intimate despite being a full estate.
The luxury tent. This is what sets Gadiamb apart from ordinary campsites: a tent with a king-size bed, wooden furniture, a private cocoon-style bathtub (a real rarity for outdoor accommodation), a private bathroom and its own private garden. Boutique-hotel comfort under canvas.
The restaurant and the farm. The on-site restaurant serves local Creole food and grills, and the Sunday buffet brunch is one of the estate's specialities. The estate's farm has ponies and horses for activities and rides, and you can also take a farm tour. It's one of the few places where activities are part of the stay.
The location. Saint-Pierre is the island's second city, lively and outdoorsy. Close by are the Saint-Pierre seafront, the Saturday market and plenty of restaurants. Further afield: the wild south (Grande-Anse, Langevin), Piton de la Fournaise an hour away and Entre-Deux 30 minutes away.
